Challenge:

In 2020, Metro Christian Academy began phase one of a master plan to reimagine its campus. The renovation began by transforming an outdated, underutilized library into a versatile, vibrant space for students and faculty success. Our challenge was to complete the summer project before students returned in the fall – a 90-day window – while navigating the effects of the pandemic supply chain issues. Our committed crew of resourceful team members and experienced partners made the daunting task possible.

Solution:

Collaborating closely with GH2 Architects, we set out to inspire a wide range of students by providing them with a modern and multi-functional space that accommodates their individual needs. Creative space planning allowed MCA students in the Learning Commons have a variety of ways to read, study, and learn. This ambitious, ground-up remodel allowed Interior Logistics to bring turnkey solutions to the table. From coordinating floor plans and selecting durable fabric and finishes to specifying furniture and overseeing furniture installation, we kept the project moving forward.

Results:

The Learning Commons has positioned Metro Christian Academy at the
forefront of modern collaborative learning. Seeing the transformation – and
watching how students intuitively used the Learning Commons – was incredibly rewarding. The flexible nature of the space now fosters a sense of creativity and inspiration while simultaneously providing adaptable learning areas. Today, the Learning Commons is the most utilized building on campus. It is used daily for meetings, activities, and events while serving students and faculty.

“Interior Logistics helped us create an aesthetic experience that is both coherent and unified with comfortable functionality. This was not just a transformation for that building, but a transformation for this school.”

– Dr. Keith Currivean, Head of School
